Ms. Amydelle drove behind the bus all the way out to Camp Sandy River. She could hear the kids screaming from the bus when we turned the corner and could see the camp in the distance.
Tonight we met our student leaders and the rest of our cabin mates. We barely had enough time to unpack! We were off taking a tour of our camp and getting ready for dinner in no time.
Dinner is not just dinner! We had lots of things to learn about setting the table, lining up in STRAIGHT lines, how to enter the dining hall, and all kinds of exciting things we'll get to do at meals. There will be weather reports in the mornings and evenings. Tomorrow morning we'll get to find out which cabins went to bed on time (earning their zzz's) and which cabins were clean and tidy upon inspection!
Messages from the kids to our families:
"We miss you!"
"We're having fun."
"Dinner was delicious."
"Our cabins are small."
"I'm excited about campfire tonight."
